This course will meet twice a week for a total of eight meetings each month. The goal of this course is to provide targeted lessons to help students become better readers. Each week, we will focus on a new book. The books will be guided reading leveled texts from on a First Grade Level.

During our meetings, we will work on building reading skills to improve their reading levels, learn and practice reading strategies, reread previous texts, learn and review sight words, discuss comprehension questions, build on word study skills, and engage in guided writing. Students will also read out loud to the group as well as answer questions and have discussions about the text read each week.

A little about me... I am a prior K-4 classroom teacher, reading specialist, and ESOL Teacher so I have experience teaching students to read. We will have fun while learning beginning reading skills.
